Your Mother Knows Gets An Award

Well, I am honored. Really. Toni B., fabulous creative spirit at, Seaweed And Gardenias tagged me with the Honest Scrap Award. While no trophies, money, condos, gifts, fun things come my way...I couldn't be more honored. Why? Because Honest Scrap is an award given by great bloggers to blogs that they follow. Follow me?

So, the rules of engagement go as follows: By accepting, I agree to share 10 honest things about myself. That will be hard, because I've been honest all along as I've written this, so for many of you, there won't be anything new in the 10 that follow. Just go with it...And, I also tag others with the award while providing the reason I am doing so. Like most chain emails, I don't send them along. So, there won't be the requisite seven or so...however, I will be giving this award to another site which you will see below.

I'd like to thank the academy for this, my very first award, most especially to Toni for thinking me worthy. It means a great deal when someone you admire, lets you know that your work gives them inspiration. I'm hopeful that this won't be my last award, but I know I'll never forget it as my very first.

Ten Honest Scraps About Me:

1. Clowns totally creep me out. All of them. Eww....

2. Although he's been gone for years now, I still think of my Cairn Terrier, Jamie, most days. I believe that when I cross over into the next life, he will be one of the spirits who meets me to let me know I have arrived at the correct spot. And he will gently lead me home.

3. I think that owning dogs has been one of the definers of my life. It's part of my self-definition.

4. I am a Reiki Master Teacher. I am awed by the ability to move energy around and see the healing results that it brings.

5. I was held up at gunpoint when I was 19 years old.

6. I am a black belt in Aikido. This is in no way related to #5...

7. I am a survivor of date rape. Well, we didn't call it that back in the day...back then you were just foolish enough to have been in the wrong place, wrong time, with someone who turned out to be less than honorable. It's all right. When he finally brought me home, I turned to him at the door and said the following, "Listen to me carefully. Your moment is done. If I ever, so much as see your face again, I will pay to have you killed. Or, I will find the way to do it myself. Don't ever let me see you or hear your name again. Am I being clear?" I guess I was because he followed the directions completely.

8. I met Omar Sharif and have his autograph. What beautiful eyes and voice that man has.

9. I love my former husband and have a close relationship with him and his family.

10. Michael is the true love of my life. And, I am a better person for having found him. The sound of his voice as he says my name is the most sacred sound I hear. He has given me children and I adore them, too. Melissa and Evan are awesome, fabulous people.

So, there you have it. My honest scraps. Hope you enjoy them.

And, now ladies and gentlemen, the Honest Scrap Award goes to Life With Dogs. Why? Because this guy is a riot. Because his wit and work makes a difference to the quality of my day and I'm sure it will to yours. Walking with him and his dogs will make you smile, even on the yuckiest days. Congratulations Mr. Author & Nigel!

Namaste' Till Next Time,
Holly

Nosey question now: are Michael and your former husband one and the same person?
I think your honesty should be applauded, beautiful Goddess-lady. I shout hurrah across the pond. Bright Blessings to you.
