Wishcasting Wednesday

Today's Wishcasting question is, "What doors do you wish to open?" And, my answer is, this one. Either of them....yeah, look closely, there's two of them. I'd like to open either, but I'd really like to see what magick might happen if I opened the smallest one. Who do you suppose lives there? Would the fairy invite me in willingly? Hmm.

As to doors, my front door stands open most days that I'm home. I thought I did it so that Rory & Fiona could lay and look out on the world, but I realize that I do it more as a soft, unspoken, "Welcome," to any who might wish to come in for a visit. In our very busy world, few ever take me up on it, but occasionally someone drops by.

Growing up on 27th Street, our front door was never used. The back door was never locked. You simply walked in. Some would knock first as they opened it. Some would simply call, "Hello?" as they came in. Those of us who lived there, simply announced, "I'm home!"

I'm home...two of the most wonderful words ever spoken.

The door I wish to open is the door to the new. I wish to walk through it to what awaits me. To push the door open and stand on the threshold with anticipation and not dread. I wish to be excited by possibility and ready to see wonders I never dared dream for myself before.

I wish to open the door to my future and my life. And realize as I do, "I'm home!"

Holly aka She Who Seeks

Your door is always open, I totally get that from you.

When I read this I gasped ... that your door is literally open like that. I got a very strong visual of a house with a beautiful garden and a woman who invites everyone in with an open generous heart. I can just hear the laughter coming from that open door, floating down the street ...

Now, tell me when a house comes up for rent on your block.

Just a wee knock and I'm certain that the Fey will say "Where you been? Come on in."

I remember the same open doors from my childhood - and open windows at night.

Holly,
I live in a place where an open door is not such a good thing. It's an invitation to criminals. But metaphorically, I'd like to open my door to let you in and all the others who've touched me here in blogland. Here's to opening doors in our lives that open new possibilities!

I wish to go through a door to a world where a public discussion can happen without fear, power brokering, misrepresentations, and anger. Is there such a door? Yours looked oh so pretty and inviting! I hope you find your way through your door!

What a great picture!!! And a lovely, heartfelt post. Thank you.

Growing up we didn't have a key to the front or back door to our home and there was none to turnover to the new owners when my folk's sold the house in the 80s.

At that home with no key, Mom always hung a small 6" handmade door with a curved top in the corner of the dining room every Christmas. On the door was a tiny green wreath. Next to the door she placed a 2" porcelain mouse. She called it the "Mouse House" and wanted the door decorated. We didn't have mice but she thought the cat would enjoy it and said everyone was welcome :-)

Beautiful Holly :) I'm totally loving the idea of making a "fairy door" :) that would rock.

As Holly wishes for herself and all the open doors, so too do I wish for Holly and want to know if the fairy is inviting :) ♥

As Holly wishes for herself, I pray for her.

People came to our back door when I was a kid and my neighbors do that today. (It took me a long time to find a neighborhood like that!)

If I had to pick only one door to open for this world, it would be the door to love because all good things can be found there.

If I could open up some of the tiny doors found therein, they would be the doors to peace, hope and understanding.

you know, I posted about finding magick behind the door before I even knew about wishcasting.. talk about thinking along the same lines!

I, for one, believe you have already opened the door to your life and I can hear you call 'I'm home'.. you have opened the door to your future by being open to whatever the Universe calls you to do.. you follow your soul.. that to me, is being open to the future xoxo
