Long May It Stand

Today, my entry is simple. Let us remember the truth of who we are. A nation United, undivided, with integrity, and principle. A land where opportunity still exists. The complete words of Katharine Lee Bates say it much more eloquently than I ever could. God Bless America and her wonderful inhabitants. Long may we stand.

O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties, above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet whose stern impassion'd stress,
A thoroughfare for freedom beat across the wilderness.
America! America! God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control, thy liberty in law.

O beautiful for heroes prov'd in liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life.
America! America! May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness, and ev'ry gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam undimmed by human tears.
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.

Namaste' Till Next Time,
Holly

I hope everyone takes advantage of the opportunity today to exercise our most basic right and DUTY to go to the polls and vote. No matter which "side" you are on, it matters nought if you don't state your case through the elective process. No other country on earth provides its citizens the franchise in an unrestricted manner such as ours...cherish it, exercise it. It's why those of us who spent any time in uniform, in any period of our history (or will do so in our future) glady did so. God Bless America.
