Happy To Me...
Just so I'm ready when the day comes......as lips are pursed over candles with the perfect amount of air ready to do the job...
Do you suppose, no matter how many birthdays have past, it's ever too late or foolish to wish once more that this could be, might be, please be...
...The year that it all comes together and that this will be the best year of life so far? A positive turning point from one way of being to the one that you know is possible? The wish where it's so obvious... the one you look back on and emphatically declare, "Most definitely, that was the year my life took off and all of it came together exactly as I hoped and prayed. That one was the wish of all wishes!"
Do you think that it's foolish to wish that...one more time?
Let me know. I mean, who wants to waste a perfectly good birthday wish?

P.S. To those who asked; the birthday is 7/12!

Lady In Waiting, For???
Normally, you would assume that the woman on the left is me, the Queen of The Universe. The crown should tip you off. But, actually, it turns out I may just be the gal on the right...the one standing there waiting for? Who knows...most likely for the one of the left to sniff, "Run back to my room, (clear on the other side of the castle,) and fetch my pomander!"My post yesterday really has me thinking-- About my life; my thoughts. Still wondering what's wrong with me that I feel like I'm waiting for things...waiting...waiting...waiting. So I decided to type Lady In Waiting into a search and, holy crow, a zillion things pop up. No wonder I spend so much time waiting. I think all women must be waiting. Maybe we've been trained to wait. On people. On timing. On wishes. On hopes. On dreams. On LIFE!
Not that life can be all bad as a lady in waiting...I mean look how this one is dressed! She certainly seems to have a good life. But, do you see her eyes? She's defiantly getting ready to do something that falls outside of the purview of waiting. She's getting ready to do something there...perhaps not on the up and up. Perhaps not socially correct. But, she's going to stop waiting, I'm fairly certain!
So many women are employed to do the waiting. Or perhaps that should be weighting. Because all that waiting for your own life to begin starts to get pretty emotionally heavy. Wonder if that's why so many of us women are over weight? It cuts across all cultures. Ladies In Waiting are-
Russian. This beauty is actually a Princess but was employed to wait on Catherine The Great! Queen trumps Princess any day.
They are also Japanese...catching a few stolen moments to do something necessary for themselves before being called back into action to attend to everyone's myriad of needs.
And Chinese...
And French and English. Gorgeous ladies who Wait. Looking pretty...but somewhat vacuous in the waiting. Pretty but empty...I'm not saying that it has made us passive. But maybe all those years of being taught to wait has made us a bit emotionally reticent. Thinking we need someone else to do our emotional heavy lifting for us. Thinking that someone else may have to rescue us or give us direction. Waiting like wind-up dolls to be put in motion by someone outside of ourselves.
Maybe waiting has crossed over from patience into unmotivation.
I'm not saying that it's made us incapable because I have to tell you, from my own experiences, that the power is often greater behind the throne. You don't need to be royalty to have power. You just need to be good at what you do...what you know...add value. Make a difference. Share yourself.
But, I am suggesting strongly to myself that it's time for this Queen to remember to stop waiting and just start doing something...anything... to get a sense of her own life's power. Whatever form that takes. However mundane it seems. I am not a lady in waiting; I am queen of my destiny. The royalty of my own existence!
Time to stop waiting. The dance has long since started and I have come late to the ball. So while I may not always be in step with the music, regardless, I better get out there on the floor and dance my own dance.
I think, from now on...
...these are the only reminder of a Lady In Waiting I'll want around me. In my garden, these ladies will be lovely.I am a Queen, not a waiting lady! It's time for Her Majesty Moi to get connected to her life. At least begin working on it. What am I waiting for???!!!
