Feeling My Age

This is not a good day for me. Everything aches. Even my hair. So not a good day.

I wish I still had some of my mentors around; maybe they'd tell me the truth. But, then again, maybe not as I need answers to a topic that no one likes to talk about. The whole aging thing is a major downer on so many levels. Here's what I think...

What I think is that there isn't anything fabulous about the 50s. In fact, I'm fairly positive that if your mind and body can survive the challenge? You should probably live then, to be 100. It's the reward for endurance.

I just need to get over this hump. Five more years till 60.

Wish me luck.

Big sigh! Ain't that the truth. I try and try, but the 50s have not been kind to me and frankly, most of the time the 50s have kicked my butt. Sure some days are easier than others but sheesh-- No one said it would be this hard.

But I think you are right. The 60s MUST be easier, especially with all the menopause crap behind us. (I hope, I hope.)

So let's hang in there together Holly. One day at a time and all that stuff :-)

Darling Holly I am very sorry to read of your suffering.

So far all is good for me, but I have other friends who are also suffering during this time.
I'm not quite sure why I am getting off lightly so far.

I have wondered whether daily meditation and regular exercise have assisted me to move through these years with ease.... so far.

take care and I sincerely hope that you are feeling better soon.

Holly girl, I can relate though I am still in my fourties, but I tell myself all the time, it sure beats the alternatives, I hope you wake up feeling wonderful..hugs my friend.

I had a pretty up and down time in my 50s. Well, no, make that down then up. And now I'm 62 and still fit and well, but it's a bit scary knowing I'm getting older! My main problem is that I don't sleep well and that is a total pain. (Any helpful hints gratefully received :-)) Keep on keeping on, you special person you!

I am finding that in my fifties, yes I do ache and I am more tired and sometimes I feel old.. and I don't move as fast as I use to... and then I remember that I am allowed to go slowly, I am allowed to savour every minute.. these years are MINE !!

I will be 65 in Feb and this past year has been about the best one so far. I like to think I will be even more interested in living and learning when I am in my 90s. Here's hoping.

Being in your 50's sure beats the alternative but it's OK to gripe about it once in a while as long as you don't let it control you. I'm 53 and most days I feel much younger but there are the occasional days where I feel more like I'm 90...but I had those days sometimes when I was in my 20's.
