Wishcasting Wednesday

For a change, I went and visited with all the wishers before writing my own wish. I wanted to see how people were answering the question, "What do you wish to begin?" I'm glad I did. There's a whole lotta changing going on!

But, what it did is confirm for me that my wish has to be a bit different. Not just because it's mine and well, we know I'm a bubble off plum at times...but just because it's really important that I do this right.

So here's my wish. I wish to begin finishing the stuff I start. I have no problems starting anything. It's finishing things before I lose interest or my faith in my abilities. Just look around at my house at the incomplete knitting projects, the books three quarters read, money invested in beads that wait to be strung, water colors that have dried up in the tubes desperately waiting to mingle with water. And, people waiting for me to call them and say, "Hello, how have you been?" Yeah, all of it.

So that's my wish. Want to be my cheering squad at the finish line? I hope you will. I want the victory and self satisfaction of finishing well what I passionately start.

Namaste' Till Next Time,
Holly aka The Closer

As Holly wishes for herself, so I wish for her also. I see Holly enjoying herself as she works on her projects, finishing those that bring her joy, and allowing herself to release the rest.

As Holly WIshes for herself, I so lovingly wish for her as well!

You sound SOOOO much like me. I am great at starting things but to continue to follow through and see it to the very end is something I continually work on. You have me in your cheering section for sure!!!

As you wish, Queen ... I do too ... email me one thing you want to finish, and I'll happily nag (oops, REMIND, and QUERY) until it's done. will that help?

I think we are all guilty of doing this, now I won't start another project until I finish the one I'm working on and if I get so I don't want to do it anymore, I give it to someone that may like to finish it!

I have my pom poms ready--YEHA YEAH YEAH!!!

And I can totally completely relate...I still have a poncho otn that i started to design and knit no less than 3 years ago--I don't think I've touched in it 2 yrs. I have forgotten why I used the particular cast on I did--because it's not in my notes--I know I meant to come back and add some sort of collar...but what???

Oh, let me walk around...I can give you hundreds of examples....this year has been all too much about finishing the things I start and doing the things I've planned...so I can totally relate. :-)

As Holly wishes for herself, I so wish for her as well...

Hi Holly,

Here's to finishing what you start and being your own cheering squad at the finish line. Like Holly the Closer.

It seems that you finish all your wishing comments every Wednesday. That's being a closer!

As Holly wishes for herself, so I wish for her also. May you be the Queen of finishing! I was laughing as I read this, since last night I finally threw away some the 2006 magazines I swore I would be using for a collage some day. Have fun!

I think we're all guilty of this. Like you I have paints let from my tole painting phase a few years back and the scroll saw hubby bought to cut my wooden pieces with is sitting on a shelf collecting dust. I have one mitten I knit two winters ago waiting for me to knit it's mate...oh, well, there are just so many minutes in a day.

Hmmmm sounds like you might be a "scanner". The term comes from Barbara Sher's book "Refuse to Choose". Scanners are people with gobs and gobs of interests.
Here's an interesting video of her talking about scanners who don't finish projects...

Ah, that's a great wish and one I've been better at lately. There's still things to be finished but I am much more conscious of them waiting in the wings. I am trying to ration my creative projects so I can give each one deserved time and energy and ... finish it! This is a great thing to wish for - as you wish for yourself, I wish for you also.

Pulling you over the finish line! Go Holly ... you can do it! Cheering from the sidelines is a skill I have acquired supporting all of the long distance runners in my family! I come equipped with water, fruit, and of course my camera!

Oh Holly, I so understand...I suffer from the same affliction, so many things unfinished, projects abandoned! As Holly wishes for herself, so I lovingly wish for her also! (and for me too please)

ROFLOL - I didn't read first, only the few I regularly follow and then this same thought was BLARING in my head! Shamsi left a comment on my post that said I was/am NOT alone. Here's to finishing with flourish and I'll be in your cheering section if you're in mine too.

As Holly wishes for herself, so I wish too for Holly!

This is the second wish of its kind I've seen today. I told the other wisher that I was more of a "sprinter" than a "distance runner." Perhaps all of us can undergo some marathon training together!

I can relate to this wish very much. So many projects started and not finished; I tend to be easily distracted by the next shiny thing.

May you finish with joy & satisfaction!

As Holly wishes for herself, so I wish for her also. My heart soared when I seen someone else that loves to start projects and never seems to finish them. I have so been working on this, really I have. Some days I am just better at it than others.
